Barn2Door is a Seattle-based food+tech startup that helps local farms sell direct to market through all digital channels, including web, social and mobile. We believe it should be as easy for chefs to order local food from farmers as it is to use Uber.

Overview

In this role as Market Research - Intern you’ll be responsible for contributing as a Market researcher to help us source, identify, and capture details on prospective customers.  The work will include targeted research in certain states and markets, combing certain resource directories, reviewing website, social posts and list serves.

To be successful in this role you need to be curious, detailed-oriented, methodical, technology adept and willing to laugh-out-loud. Some of the farm websites and social posts are downright funny and we encourage sharing humor in the office!

In this role, you’ll work closely with Marketing, Sales and Success. You’ll be expected to learn and become comfortable with HubSpot (a Customer Relationship Management software), and keep fastidious notes in HubSpot on each prospect.  Note, we only work with clean, sustainable and/or organic farmers - we don’t work with conventional farms.

This part-time role is ideal for a college student seeking to get exposure and insights to working inside a fast-paced startup environment.

Our office is located in Fremont (next door to SeaWolf bakery). You would be expected to work in the office (with the team) based on an agreed upon schedule (ideal 15-20 hours per week).

You Have:

  • Ambition to learn more about startups

  • Willingness to become an expert on Hubspot!

  • Comfort and natural ability working with technology and productivity tools, such as G! Suite and Slack

  • Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas.

  • Bonus: food or farming domain knowledge

You Will:

  • Conduct detailed market research for the business

  • Analyze data and share insights on market trends, characteristics and attributes in a given market(s)

  • Research competitive solutions, market coverage and conduct a SWOT assessment

  • Willingly support other areas of the business - namely in Marketing, Sales and Success where your hard-work, positive attitude and detailed nature could be of value

You Get:
