Description

Katahdin leg of lamb is a roast for holidays, special occasions and whenever you want to have an impressive, elegant or casual meal. Our center-cut leg of lamb is the prime center section of leg. The rump and shank have been removed for easier cooking resulting in a higher meat to bone ratio. Katahdins are a special breed developed for high quality, fine textured, mildly flavored meat. The meat has a significantly lower cholesterol content compared to other lamb breeds according to analysis done by the U of Saskatchewan. Our lambs are raised and finished on their mother's milk, Okanogan Highland forbs, legumes and grasses -that's it - no grain, no supplements, no hormones, nothing but mom's milk, chemical- free pastures, and pure well water, pastures and pure well water give the naturally tasty and healthy lamb a texture and flavor we believe is not obtainable anywhere else.

You will need to meet Island Mountain Farm at Grateful Bread Bakery & Cafe on Monday, May 8th between 7:00 PM & 8:00 PM.

Island Mountain Farm is located in the Okanogan Highlands. We raise Katahdin lamb and Heritage pigs. Katahdin Sheep are a breed created for superior meat quality. Our lamb is raised and finished naturally on dryland pasture. We protect our animals with livestock guardian dogs, fences and non-lethal devices. We produce high quality meat in a responsible way, always honoring our responsibility to leave our land and environment in better condition than we received it.
