Come tour Green Skies Vertical Farm. Learn about both soil based and hydroponic agriculture. Also learn about organic production, indoor farming and get simple gardening ideas for your home. See how we grow our crops and taste numerous different herbs and greens. The tour will last for approximately 45 minutes - 1 hour. IF there is a specific theme you would like discussed in the tour, please let us know ahead of time. Tours are generally held on wednesdays and saturdays but may be scheduled on other days as appropriate. Tours can have up to 15 people and can be given in either English or Spanish. Participants should bring a water bottle and protective clothing for sun exposure or rain/cold as appropriate. Once tour is paid, we will e-mail you to arrange date and time. Green Skies Vertical Farm

Green Skies Vertical Farm is a micro-farm located in West Oakland. Visits by appointment only We offer items for pickup at 4 locations. Order online and then pick up on the designated day. Our pickup sites are: At our farm in West Oakland, Alembique Apothecary and the farmer's porch in West Berkeley and the Biofuel Oasis in South Berkeley. Green Skies uses soil based, bioponic and hydroponic cultivation methods. The farm is very small, 3,200 square feet (1/14 of an acre), producing a large amount per square foot. Drip irrigation is combined with recirculating bioponics, water catchment and reuse to minimize water use. The entire farm uses 40 gallons/day. Certified organic by CCOF.
