Description

Weekly produce box of assorted seasonal vegetables. The CSA will start in June and end in the beginning of November for a total of 20 weeks. Each CSA is $380 which breaks down to $19 per week. All the vegetables will be grown by Growing Veterans at the Auburn farm, and a typical, weekly box will strive to have the following components: salad green, cooking green, legume, root, aromatic, herb, and a specialty. Your investment involves much more than receiving a weekly box of produce, but also it will support us to provide peer support trainings, train veterans to become farmers, and protect farmland. Vegetable boxes can be picked up at the Auburn farm and locations in Seattle. Other drop-off locations can be arranged. Exact dates will be finalized as we approach harvest.

Growing Veterans

Growing Veterans

Growing Veterans operates three farms in the PNW -Auburn, Lynden and Mount Vernon. We are USDA Certified, carry the Home Grown by Heroes label, and practice sustainable agriculture. We engage veterans looking at agriculture as a viable career option, teaching them valuable skills and helping connect them to resources when they are ready to farm on their own. For other veterans, we are a place for them to engage with other veterans who have shared life experiences. We provide peer support through a unique model that addresses PTSD and suicide prevention - we call it 'dirt therapy.' Growing Veterans is certified Homegrown by Heroes - awarded to farms that are Veteran-owned and recognized by the USDA. Mission: To empower military veterans to grow food, communities, and each other.
