Why Does Barn2Door Charge a Setup Fee?
Yes, Barn2Door does charge a one-time setup fee when you start using our software and services. We believe in being transparent, and all of our pricing is clearly posted online for your Farm’s information and review.
What is Barn2Door?
Barn2Door is the leading solution for Independent Farmers across America who are seeking to cut out the middleman and maximize outcomes for their business. We know you’re busy running a farm and a business, and our platform is designed to make your operations more efficient and effective. Farmers use Barn2Door to:
Make more money by capturing online and in-person sales
Ditch the office work by automating your sales, orders and inventory management
Look like a pro with a great buyer experience across all channels
To use Barn2Door, your Farm pays an annual (or monthly) subscription fee, processing fees, merchant support fees and a one-time setup fee.
What does the Setup Fee Cover?
Barn2Door’s software is built specifically to meet the needs of Farmers – whether that is sell by weight, capturing subscriptions, offering wholesale and retail price lists, providing different fulfillment options, managing real-time inventory, or automating all the details (e.g. order reminders, pick & pack, labels). Getting all the complexities of your Farm business set-up to align with your operations and harvest schedules to run smoothly takes time and resources.
The Barn2Door setup fees help cover the time, tools, and human support spent getting your Farm’s systems in place. The setup fee helps fund the following key resources for your Farm:
Office Hours: Live, virtual support 5-days per week.
Learn Center: An up-to-date library of self-serve resources.
Support: Dedicated technical support team 5-days per week.
Getting started with new business software is a critical investment for your Farm. We want to ensure you are set up for success so you can make more money, ditch the office work and look like a pro.
Real Human Support: A Key Difference
You’ll probably notice that most online tools or platforms only offer automated AI-chat bots and community forums — there are no real humans to assist you. That's because paying for real people (salary, benefits, taxes, office, tooling, etc.) is expensive.
At Barn2Door, we are committed to providing your Farm with a mix of great DIY resources and real human support. We are based out of our Nashville, TN headquarters and our entire team has a heart for Farmers. We are proud to offer the following resources to assist you:

Essentially, the setup fee helps cover the human assistance and resources provided by Barn2Door during your first few months of training and launching your new business system to streamline your Farm operations. With the additional setup assistance, Farmers benefit from data insights, industry best practices and a quicker path to return on their investments in Barn2Door.
Quick Summary of Setup Resources:
1. Office Hours
The Barn2Door Success team dedicates personnel every day, 5-days per week, to be available for live, virtual assistance to Farmers on all Subscription tiers. From quick questions on store basics and configuration, to specific training on leveraging the Barn2Door Point-of-Sale (POS), our Success team is ready to assist you with real, human support.
2. Learn Center
As a Barn2Door subscriber, you gain access to an entire library of do-it-yourself (DIY) resources, tutorials and documentation that is routinely updated and managed by our Support Team. The learn center provides all the information needed for an entrepreneurial Farmer to get started asap and resolve ad hoc technical questions.
3. Support Tickets
Every Barn2Door Account has access to technical support, 5-days per week, with a 24-hour response time on submitted requests. Our Support team can provide your Farm with detailed instructions to resolve technical issues on your own, and/or connect you with a Team Member (Office Hours) to address your questions live.
4. Onboarding Managers
Across the first 60 days, Farmers in the Business and Scale tiers meet weekly 1-on-1 with an Onboarding Manager to assist with Barn2Door setup. Your Onboarding Manager helps set up your initial inventory, product descriptions, schedules and fulfillment options. Additionally, they will help you automate order management — order reminders, pick and pack lists, labels, invoices and key integrations (email, social media, and accounting).
5. Account Managers
During the first 180 days, Farmers in the Scale tier meet routinely 1-on-1 with an Account Manager to assist with Barn2Door adoption, best practices and go-to-market strategy. They will assist you with Buyer acquisition tactics, pricing and packaging strategies, and email campaign automations to target new, loyal and lapsed Buyers. Additionally, they will help you streamline operations to align your harvest and fulfillment schedules. Beyond 180 days, Account Managers meet quarterly with your Farm business to conduct store audits, review outcomes, and evolve your Barn2Door setup to align with your business priorities.
6. Security Certificates
Your Farm store’s security set-up and configuration is handled and maintained by Barn2Door, including requesting and implementing a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificate. This is an industry best practice to ensure all your financial transactions are fully-encrypted and reduce the risks of conducting business online.
7. Domain Name Servers (DNS)
During setup, our Support Team helps all Barn2Door Accounts to seamlessly transfer and re-direct your Domain Name Server (DNS) records to support your custom Farm domain name (www.yourfarmname.com). This is important to ensure automated emails (e.g. order reminders) and your website address, support your unique Farm domain name. Note, your Farm owns and always maintains rights to your Domain name (like your mobile phone number); as such, your Farm is responsible to purchase and renew your Domain name.
8. Stock Photo Library
Every active Barn2Door Subscription has access to a library of 100’s of original and fully-licensed photos in our Stock Photo Library. These photos are often used during setup to showcase specific products in your Farm store. Additionally, Barn2Door Stock Photo library is often used by our Designers on custom-designed Farm websites (if you do not have sufficient photos). Our photo library is always expanding based on Farmer requests – we actively solicit your suggestions.
9. Other Resources
Barn2Door provides a wealth of other resources during setup, including templates of suggested inventory, price ranges, and product descriptions for Protein, Produce and Dairy Farmers, that can be bulk uploaded and edited by your Farm. Every Farm gets a unique QR code and branded Sign-up Form that can be printed and posted in your local business, church or school. Additionally, Farms in our Scale Tier get a custom-branded set of Email Templates for use with Mailchimp for their newsletters.
What is NOT Included with the Setup Fee:
1. A Custom-designed Farm Website.
Barn2Door does not charge for the design, development and publication of a custom website for each Farmer. A custom Farm website is available free-of-charge to all active Barn2Door Subscription tiers, including website hosting and an enterprise-grade Content Delivery Network. If your Farm chooses to end its Barn2Door subscription, then your custom Farm Website will be decommissioned, OR you may purchase your website separately (without ecommerce) and migrate to a website hosting provider of your choosing.
2. Marketing Toolkit
Many Farmers request assistance with social media marketing, seasonal imagery and copy, email banners, newsletter copy, and chef-inspired recipes. In response to this ongoing request, Barn2Door debuted the Marketing Toolkit which is available for an additional cost (+39/mo) for all active Barn2Door Subscription Tiers. It is published monthly with more than 50+ media assets and can be added or cancelled anytime.
3. Custom-designed Farm Logo
Several Farmers need assistance with creating or modifying a Farm Logo. Unfortunately, the time required to solicit Farm feedback, ideate logo improvements and accommodate specific design-preferences, requires Barn2Door to charge for this service separately. Custom-designed Farm Logos are available for an additional one-time fee (+$499) for all annual Barn2Door Subscription Tiers. Logos are “work-for-hire” and owned by the Farmer, even if they choose to subsequently end their Barn2Door subscription after one-year.
